This book is a pretty good collection or a bunch of summaries of philosophers and their thoughts. For people with little knowledge about this (such as most people who are the same age as the main character!) it's actually a nice overview. I already knew a good chunk of the contents, so it felt tedious at times, but still it had its interesting bits.
But the subtitle is "A Novel About the History of Philosophy", and it can hardly be called a novel. A philosophical dialogue is what it is (which is fine)! The plot doesn't even start until page 287 (56%) and it's rather obvious, and secondary. So don't let the subtitle set your expectations.
